Corona is now taking a terrible turn in 11 states in India. The government of India also has a headache with those 11 states and union territories. In the meanwhile, Corona is spreading fast again and intense panic is spreading in the whole of West Bengal including Kolkata.
Corona is rampant in at least 11 of the country's 27 states and nine union territories. The 11 states are Maharashtra, Punjab, Karnataka, Kerala, Chhattisgarh, Chandigarh, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Delhi and Haryana.
In the last 24 hours in West Bengal, 1,833 people have been infected with corona in the entire state including Kolkata. But yesterday Friday this number was 1 thousand 264 people. According to the latest bulletin of the state health department last night, 4 people have died in the last 24 hours. All the dead are from Kolkata and North 24 Parganas districts.
However, 550 people have recovered in the last 24 hours. So far, 5 lakh 69 thousand 992 people have been infected with corona in this state. And 10 thousand 335 people died. At present, 6,792 people are undergoing treatment in various government and private hospitals and nursing homes in the state. In the last 24 hours, 513 people have been infected in Kolkata. And 2 people died. In the last 24 hours, 26,097 corona samples have been tested in this state. In all, 92 lakh 25 thousand 351 people have been tested.
According to the latest State Health Department report, 331 people have been infected in the North 24 Parganas along with 513 in Kolkata in the last 24 hours. 163 people were affected in South 24 Parganas, 159 in Howrah, 156 in Birbhum, 72 in West Burdwan and 60 in Hughli.
On March 1 this year, the number of corona infections in the state was 198. On March 4, it stood at 209 people. On March 6, it increased to 215 people. On 12 March it increased to 26 people. And on March 14 that number increased to 263 people. And in the last 24 hours, that number has increased to 1,633 people. As a result, panic is growing across the state, including Kolkata, over the rapid growth rate of corona.
Earlier, corona was treated in public and private hospitals, various nursing homes and various safe homes set up by the state government to control corona, but recently corona beds have been reduced in most hospitals and nursing homes due to declining corona incidence. Not only that, out of 200 safe homes built in the state, only one corona patient is now admitted. The rest of the safe home is virtually closed as there are no patients. The health department said yesterday that now the initiative has been taken to admit corona patients in safe homes again. Besides, 9,453 patients are now receiving corona treatment at home in different districts of the state.
Meanwhile, sources in the Union Health Ministry said on Friday that 61,046 people have been infected in India in the last 24 hours. 489 people died. In all, 1 lakh 83 thousand 393 people have died in Corona so far in India. 1 crore 23 lakh 91 thousand 129 people have been affected. And 1 crore 15 lakh 25 thousand 39 people have recovered. 50 thousand 356 people have recovered in the last 24 hours. Now there are 6 lakh 14 thousand 798 patients under treatment in the whole country.
