Northern agriculture is now active throughout the year. Every year more than 1.65 million tons of surplus food grains are produced in the northern region. Diesel is the biggest contributor to the agriculture sector. And if the demand and supply of this energy meet in time, it is possible to bring revolutionary changes in agriculture. There will be no shortage of diesel in the northern region after the launch of India-Bangladesh alliance pipeline. As a result the agriculture of this region will be more prosperous.

Bangladesh Petroleum Corporation (BPC) says that apart from agriculture, this diesel will also be used in a new power plant here. As a result industrialization will also speed up through uninterrupted power supply.

From land preparation to irrigation, diesel is needed in every field. The data says that about 560,000 diesel-powered irrigation pumps are used in 16 districts of the northern region every year. Also, more than 50,000 diesel tractors are used for land preparation.

Farmers say that once the pipeline is opened, there will be no speed to get diesel as per demand. As a result, there will be no crisis in the production of agricultural products.
