After a year of considerable success in corona coping, the second wave turned everything upside down. The situation seems to be the same as when the enemy comes to the brink of victory and launches a fierce counter-attack. So the commanders of the Corona War may have lost their temper. Not being able to manage the war as wisely as before.
Corona has to fight on many fronts. On the one hand to prevent and control the infection, on the other hand to identify the infection and treat the patients. Gaining public support and preventing rumors is another front. The situation on each front seems a little more shaky than last year. For example, last time there was no such random situation during lockdown or general holiday. On behalf of the Comrade Fighter Platform, when we went to the hospital to distribute personal safety equipment or to the Department of Health for approval of these equipment, we noticed a considerable silence on the road. But this time the lockdown did not decrease the public gathering. Public transport has been approved in the city since the third day of the lockdown. So what was our lack of planning in this regard? Didn't people need to think about the lockdown or the closure of public transport?
On the second front, that is, our preparedness and strength in the identification and treatment of infected people has gradually increased. We now have the capability to do more than 30,000 tests a day. The number of doctors and nurses has increased. There is no wailing like last year with personal health care equipment and other medical equipment. However, the intensity of the second wave of the corona is so high that even in this case, the crisis is struggling to overcome. Families that have corona patients or other patients who need to be hospitalized at the moment are realizing the awfulness of the situation. And no matter how rich or powerful we are, getting an ICU is harder than catching a golden deer. Therefore, if appropriate measures are not taken at the moment, there may be widespread public discontent.Spreading rumors or using the media in a different way is an old strategy of the enemy in war. Some people may spread rumors by abusing social media. It is clear from the attack on the Thana and Upazila Parishad of Faridpur's Saltha Upazila that there is no chance to downplay the rumors in the Corona War. If the situation continues, the local administration will not want to take responsibility. Public support is the main tool of the Corona War. Even in the last one year, we have not received a wide response from the people using the World Health Organization's recognized method of dealing with corona, including wearing a mask.
The signs of weakness on each front are so obvious. In short, the newly armed warrior Corona will not be able to fight with old weapons. Not with the old strategy. I want effective new strategies for him. This new strategy requires a brave and wise commander on every front. And everyone needs a wise chief commander.
It seems that there may be more than one general on some fronts, but there is a strong lack of discipline and chain of command. And these two are the main controllers of war victory. No matter how strong the fighting force is, it is easy to fall prey to enemy casualties without discipline and chain of command. In the absence of a chain of command, it is difficult for many officials, including the Department of Health and the Ministry of Health, which are directly or indirectly involved in dealing with corona, to take on responsibilities. The main reason for this is the promotion and deputation on the basis of narrow party considerations and the persuasion of the syndicate cycle instead of long-standing qualifications, skills and patriotism. It seems that they are making decisions based on their own knowledge and experience, not on the advice of experts. This is normal. In this age of Google scholars, choosing experts is no less difficult. But a truly skilled manager or commander also needs to have the ability to choose the real expert. From the point of view of the situation, it seems that the two proverbs ‘childhood is ruined by more monks’ and ‘less knowledge is terrible’ are being applied successfully.
Therefore, our noble call is to give responsibility to a brave, efficient and wise person on every front. In this case, emphasize on honesty, competence, the spirit of the liberation war and above all patriotism. The first duty of these commanders is to appoint competent and skilled persons in all spheres of administration and to restore the chain of command. And according to the advice of real experts, the strategy of coronary warfare has been arranged. This is the expectation of all the people of the country. And in this miserable condition of the nation, I am humbly requesting everyone to join the Corona War with a noble voice like Bangabandhu.
On the other hand, in this time of crisis in the country, all political parties should forget their differences, stand on one platform and take part in the fight against corona and call on the people to follow the accepted method of preventing corona, including wearing masks and vaccinations. Politics, social politics — everything is for the welfare of the people. There are not many such disasters in the life of the nation after 1971. If we can all be one in the anti-authoritarian movement, then why not now! So let us all forget the old divisions and show solidarity in the national interest and free the country from the curse of Corona by launching a fierce counter-attack against Corona's fierce attack. Let's build a huge volunteer force together with students-teachers, political activists, social workers, NGO workers, media workers and play a supportive role in preventing and providing health care to the infected people.
